Wild Life & Fish

Wildlife is abundant in the Glacier Bay area. You could see black tail deer, moose, eagles, wolves, puffins and grizzly bear and black bear. While fishing you could see minke whales, killer whales, humpback whales, sea lions, sea otters and seals.

Along with the great accommodations, meals, scenery, hospitality and wildlife, we know that your main reason for coming to EAGLES NEST LODGE is to fish. The waters around Glacier Bay are rich with fish. King Salmon, silver salmon, chum salmon, sockeye salmon and pink salmon are all caught here. Giant halibut over 400 pounds have been caught. Halibut from 100-300 pounds are caught on a regular basis. Our boats average a 100 pound plus fish per boat per day. Along with the salmon and halibut, are lingcod, rockfish and yellow eye (red snapper).
